On March 12, 2024 Tbilisi State Medical University was visited by Professor Carlo Senore, international expert and lead of the Piedmont Region Screening Program (Italy). Professor Carlo Senore is the international advisor of the project - "Study of the behavioral attitudes of the primary health care management and the target population benefiting from the state program of cancer screening in Georgia linked to the need of screening program". Tbilisi State Medical University has been supporting the implementation of the project since 2022. 

The guest was met by Professor Irakli Natroshvili, Rector of TSMU, Professor Rema Gvamichava Head of the Department of Oncology of TSMU, Associate Professor of the University of Georgia Tina Beruchashvili, a member of US Breast Cancer Coalition (NBCC) and Europa Donna and Assoc. Prof. Irina Kapetivadze Head of Rector’s Office.

The parties discussed the ongoing project and outlined further development and cooperation activities. They emphasized the importance of monitoring and evaluation as a tool for quality improvement in cancer screening and TSMU university clinics involvement in the screening program.
