Success of Tbilisi State Medical University in the CIF (Competitive Innovation Fund) Competition

The project of Tbilisi State Medical University is the winner of the second competition of the Competitive Innovation Fund (CIF) grant program of the Ministry of Education, Science and Youth of Georgia. The TSMU project “Establishing a Digital Slide Database for Advancing Pathology Education through Innovative Modules and AI-Integrated Doctoral Program” was submitted by Professor Rima Beriashvili Head of the Department of Pathological Anatomy of Tbilisi State Medical University. The project involves exploring algorithms necessary for the educational process with the help of cutting-edge technologies. The project will be implemented within a consortium of Tbilisi State Medical University, Caucasus International University, and the Medical University of Graz (Austria). Within the framework of the project, a bilateral doctoral program in pathology using artificial intelligence components will be developed together with the Institute of Pathology Diagnostics and Research of the Medical University of Graz. As a result, algorithms for processing data, instruments, and information will be available for the research projects of various medical specialties. Consequently, both clinical and research data will increase, making the educational process more engaging and involving students in research projects with even greater interest.
