On March 25-27, 2024, Professor Tinatin Tkemaladze, Head of the Department of Molecular and Medical Genetics of Tbilisi State Medical University participated in the conference Genomics of Rare Disease. The conference was organized in Cambridge (the UK) and was attended by more than 400 delegates from 48 countries.

Professor Tinatin Tkemaladze presented a report on: “Genetic variations: Rare diseases in the Azerbaijani ethnic population of Georgia”. The TSMU professor emphasized the importance of conducting genetic diagnostic tests on patients with hereditary diseases. According to the professor, this approach helps prevent diseases and ensures timely and accurate medical treatment.

The report was interesting for the participants of the conference. Further cooperation projects were also planned during the professor’s visit to the UK.
